About Meetings

  • Unless otherwise indicated, meetings last for one hour
  • All meetings are non-smoking, in accordance with the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act
  • Locations with handicap accessibility are indicated as wheelchair accessible in meeting “features”

open “OPEN”

Open meetings allow attendance by people who are not families and friends of alcoholics but who are interested in learning about Al-Anon Family Groups. People who may come to open meetings occasionally include students and professionals who work with alcoholics but do not necessarily feel that they have personally been affected by alcoholism.

closed “CLOSED”

Closed meetings are limited to members/prospective members of Al-Anon, i.e. people whose lives are affected by someone else’s drinking. Groups that register a meeting as “closed” may decide to hold an occasional “open” meeting in order to reach out to professionals and others interested in Al-Anon.
